The Right Direction
Days like these are the most important.
When I wake up heavy, beaten down and tired of the day-in, day-out of my work and life.
I don’t feel excited about anything.
I get some bad news.
I sleep in a few more minutes.
Generally, I feel uninspired, despondent and resigned.
Days like these are important because I go back to WHY I’m doing this.
I spend time contextualizing how I feel and what I’m moving towards.
I check my Direction.
I know on days like these that I have to pull myself up.
I try a little harder.
I demand a little more focus of myself.
I do my habits.
I write a note like this.
Discomfort has a funny way of bringing presence, if you let it.
I remember, “YOU ARE HERE.”
Then, I get to it. Usually in a measured way. A peace comes over me. I begin my day.
Today is one of those days.
It’s okay.
I have been here many time before.
Once I have The Right Direction, it’s more about one foot in front the other than anything else.
Just take another step.
